Lingan Golf Club was first established in 1895 at Victoria Park in Sydney. The golf club moved to a new site at Lingan Bay in 1909 and eventually found its current home in MacLean's Crossing in 1913. The original 9 hole layout was designed and constructed by Dominion, NS native and Maritime Amateur Golf Champion Malcolm Martin. In 1922, the famed golf course architect Stanley Thompson came to the area and helped redesign the original 9 hole layout. The development of the second nine holes began in 1964 with C.E. (Robbie) Robinson as the architect. Lingan Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in existence in Canada with a strong history and tradition. The golf club has hosted Canadian and Provincial golf championships with the most recent being the Nova Scotia Men's Amateur Championship in 2008. We also run one of the most attended and storied annual Men's Invitational Championships, The Cape Breton Roadbuilders presented by Caper Auto Sales. This tournament was established in 1968 and has seen some of the top amateur golfers from the Maritimes participate. The golf club maintains a sizable membership and also offers green fee options to the public. There is a practice range, putting and chipping greens and a full service Pro Shop on site. Club and power cart rentals are available for those who require them, although Lingan Golf is a very walkable course that typically plays in under four hours. Jamie MacIntosh is the Head Professional and he offers a wide variety of lessons and group clinics. Lingan Golf Club is extremely pleased to have Flavor Fine Foods and Catering operating its food and beverage services. Flavor 19 is a contemporary restaurant and lounge located at the Lingan Golf Club. Tucked into the southwest corner of the Province, this charming links-style layout offers a panoramic view of the local lighthouse and ocean. At first glance, the openness of the course leads one to believe that low scores are the norm. However, the rolling fairways, small lightning fast greens and unpredictable ocean breezes all combine to provide a true challenge for any golfer. This club was established in the early 1800's and operated as a nine hole course until the mid 1990's when the new nine was opened for play in 1995. Yarmouth is one of the Province's oldest courses. While playing Yarmouth course you will be treated to great views of the Atlantic Ocean. The course is fairly wide open but the small greens will make up for this as accurate approach shots will be required.
