Sea Pines Resort (Heron Point)

Heron Point by Pete Dye is a championship golf course located at The Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The course is a product of a 2007 renovation and transformation of the original Sea Marsh Golf Course, with additional enhancements made in 2014. Designer: The course was designed by legendary architect Pete Dye, who also designed the famed Harbour Town Golf Links, located at the same resort. Unique design: As is typical of Dye's courses, Heron Point is known for its dramatic angles, optical challenges, and ubiquitous mounds and swales. Risk-reward: It features numerous risk-reward holes, with fairways that move toward and away from hazards, including water and bunkers. Aesthetic appeal: The design showcases a vivid tapestry of colors, thanks to a mixture of sand, mulch, limestone, and various grasses. Playability: While challenging, the course was modified to be more player-friendly for a broad range of golfers. It offers seven sets of tees, making it accessible to players of all skill levels.
